Collin update

July 19, 2013 Collin Update: Collin underwent an 8 hour surgery on 7/17. The pathology report shows that the cancer is a low grade glioma, specifically a pilocytic astrocytoma. It is unusual for this cancer to present with multiple lesions, such as Collin has, however there has been one other documented case. This cancer will require Collin to undergo 1 year of chemotherapy. The doctor talked about future birthdays, etc 

The surgery did leave Collin with limited left leg function and chemo is starting in 1 week, so he has a long road to go. Thank-you all for the help!!! We have raised over $2,000 so far!

On July 16, 2013, Collin turned 3 years old. He was complaining of back pain so his parents took him into the ER. He was found to have a large tumor on his spine. Collin was sent to the University of Michigan and was found to have brain cancer that spread down his spine. He spent all day on July 17, in surgery at the U of M. Collin’s parents, Jody and Sara, are respiratory therapists at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, Michigan.
