SlimFast VoxBox Review

I was fortunate enough to receive a SlimFast VoxBox from Influenster. I had to wait a little while to test out all of the products due to my strict diet, but I was finally able to open the box and trial the products to give them an honest review.

The box contained four products, which surprised me. When I think of SlimFast, I think of meal replacement shakes. I didn't realize they had other great products! The VoxBox included:

1 - Vanilla Creme Protein Shake
1 - 100 Calorie Snack: Sour Cream & Onion Baked Crisps
1 - 100 Calorie Cinnamon Swirl crisps
1 - Slim Fast Dark Chocolate Meal Replacement Bar

The first two products I trailed were the 100 calorie snacks. However, since I am on such a strict diet, I only tried a couple of pieces from each bag. Unfortunately, these two products have too many carbs for me to enjoy them fully!

The Sour Cream & Onion Baked Crisps were actually pretty good. They were nice and crispy, dissolved quickly in your mouth and left a nice flavor of sour cream & onion on my tongue. Before surgery, I could definitely see myself enjoy these as a snack. The nutritional facts are as follows:

Calories: 100
Total Fat: 2.5g
Total Carbs: 19g
Sugars: 1g
Protein: 2g

Sadly, not enough protein and too many carbs for this chick. I would have loved to finish the 1oz serving though!

Getting silly with the bag of chips...

The second product I tried were the cinnamon swirl crisps. Perhaps, because I haven't been allowed anything sweet in a long time, but this bag was harder to put down than the first!! They were nice and crispy, dissolved in my mouth and left a delicious cinnamon taste on my tongue. Seriously, a yummy 100 calorie snack. Nutrition facts:

Calories: 100
Total Fat: 3g
Total Carbs: 20g
Sugars: 7g
Protein: 3g

Unfortunately, the carbs and sugars killed this one for me. Again, too many for this chick to consume so only a couple of bites and I was down. However, I would recommend this snack to people. Super yummy.
If only I could eat you delicious things...

The third item I tried was the Vanilla Cream protein shake. Overall, the shake was good. It had a nice sweet taste and it didn't leave the gross after taste that most protein shake tend to leave. In general, I don't tend to enjoy vanilla shakes because they are too sweet tasting and this one is similar. I can drink it a little bit at a time, but I can't drink a whole shake in one sitting.

Calories: 180
Total Fat: 9g
Total Carbs: 6g
Sugars: 1g
Protein: 20g

The fourth product I received was a protein bar...which I have been too afraid to try. With my new pouch, I was sure I would be able to digest this one so unfortunately, I can not give an honest review of this product. Plus the carb content was way too high for me right now and the protein too low.

Calories: 190
Total Fat: 10g
Total Carbs: 20g
Sugars: 9g
Protein: 10g

Vanilla Cream Shake and SlimFast Dark Chocolate Sea Salt protein bar
Overall, I feel SlimFast has developed some strong products for those looking to cut calories. For a bariatric patient, most of the products won't work but that isn't unusual.

Disclaimer: I received these products free from Influenster in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for this post.

UniVoxBox

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive the UniVoxBox from Influenster! I was really busy with school so I am just now getting around to bragging about the loot that I received. The theme was Class is in Session! The box featured products that any college girl would need!

As you can see, Influenster sent me lots of goodies to test!

Red Rose Real Tea: Black Tea
If I am being honest, I don't like tea. Yeah, I'm weird. So I gave this to my husband to test drive and he hasn't yet. Therefore, I can't give you an honest opinion on the taste since all tea tastes disgusting on my palette. Influenster also included a $1 off coupon! Retail Value: $4.99

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in Light Ivory
I love this foundation! It goes on very smooth, doesn't make me look streaky and Influenster matched my skin tone very well. Pasty pale- that's me. Retail Value: $4.99-5.50

NYC Expert Lip Last Color
In general, I enjoy NYC make-up. The lipstick applies smoothy and made my lips feel nice but the color was a little too bright for my everyday wear...even going out, bright pink isn't my color. I like nude shades. Retail Value: $2.40-2.99

imPRESS Press-On Nails
I have used imPRESS before and I really liked them. They tend to stay on for the full 7 days and the price is right. However, in my current profession I can't wear fake nails and also, the design is a little too radical for me. Retail Value: $5.99-6.99

Playtex Sport Tampons
Woohoo- who doesn't love a free box of tampins (think Kathryn Hahn in We're the Millers...get it? get it?) Anyways, tampons are tampons- Playtex has always been my choice brand and as usual, deliver a quality product. I'm not super sporty so I can't tell you whether or not these give you more protection when you are running around playing sports. Retail Value: $6.99

Pilot Acroball Pen
Another crowd pleaser- a new pen! I love pens. This pen worried me at first because I couldn't get it to write smoothly. However, after a couple of uses, I was able to get the ink flowing and it works very well! Retail Value: $2.29

Did any of you receive the UniVoxBox? What did you think of the products?

Day #186: Holiday Vox Box

I was super excited when Influenster notified me that I would be receiving their Holiday Vox Box! It was my first Vox Box and it was awesome!

So, what came in the Vox Box? First, my top 2 faves: the Goody QuikStyle Brush and the NYC New York Color Liquid Lip-shine. I received the half-round Goody brush, which is designed with microfiber bristles that removes water while you style your hair. It works and combined with my awesome hair-dryer that Misikko sent me...I love doing my hair!

Second, the NYC lip shine in nude. I love it. I love nude lip gloss so this was definitely me. I wear it all the time and when it runs out, I will be spending the $2.49 to buy a new one (reasonable, right?!).

I also received the Kiss Nail Dress. It's an easy kit that involves peeling, applying and shaping...which makes doing your nails an easy task! I liked the jewel design I was sent, but being a nurse...it wasn't practical. Definitely didn't last long in my line of work!

Next, I received Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal in Apple Walnut. I haven't tried it yet because I'm not a huge fan of Oatmeal. Another thing I received that I am hesitant to try is EBOOST Natural Energy powder in Acai Pomegranate. All you do is add water. However, flavored water and me...yuck.

I also received Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask in Chocolat. I love face masks and am actually excited to try this, but I haven't yet. Not sure why! Lazy I guess?

The Vox Box also included a $25 off code for Sole Society. They have SUPER cute shoes. And though I was trying to not buy a pair... I couldn't help myself. The shoes are reasonably priced from $50-$80. I got these cute heels for $24.95 (with the $25 off code).

Anyways, you can benefit from the $25 off code too!! Just use INFLUENSTER25 to get $25 off your first pair of shoes from Sole Society. This expires January 31, so hurry!!
