April 2015 IPSY Glam Bag

Time for a monthly IPSY glam bag review!!
What is the glam bag, you ask? Allow me to enlighten you:
IPSY glam bag is a monthly subscription service, that provides the member with a cute bag filled with deluxe and full-size beauty samples. The glam bag samples are tailored to each member based off of a quiz that take when you first join. If your style preferences change, you can re-take the quiz at any time! The bag is $10/month. Members can share their glam bag with other members, swap tips and tricks, and you can buy full size products at discounted prices. It's fantastic.

April's Theme: Beautifully Bohemian

First of all, I love the colorful and cute bag that came this month. And as usual, it was full of great things!!

1. Redken Wind Blown 05: This hair spray works pretty good! Most hairsprays seem to just make my hair hard and doesn't hold the shape but this one worked pretty well. Retail Value: $5

2. Blush by Hikari Cosmetics in Tango: I haven't used this yet but I am always happy to try a new blush. Retail Value: $15

3. Mini Lip and Cheek Tint by Mullein and Sparrow: This little tin is amazing. It smells and tastes like fresh oranges and makes your lips feel soft and smooth. I haven't tried it as a blush yet, but I am sure smelling like oranges won't be bad!! Retail Value: $10

4. JulieG Nail Color: Super cute color and it goes on smooth. Retail Value: $3.99

5. NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single in Flirty which is a shimmering violet with gold tint. Very cute. Retail Value: $8

As always, for $10 I felt this bag was totally worth it. Who doesn't love receiving great products at a low price? Another great perk of being an Ipsy member - discounts on the products you love and want to buy more of!! Try it out!

Day #246: March Glam Bag reveal

Okay, first of all...when did the world become obsessed with the Harlem Shake? Where was I when this started happening? I feel like one day it didn't exist and BOOM, now I see it EVERYWHERE!!! Well, my mom is a store manager at McDonalds and she, along with her managers and crew team decided to bust into the shake while at work. It's HILARIOUS and I am sure the customers loved it! (Customer service was NOT interrupted during the filming of this video). So, please enjoy the Harlem Shake from the crew at Bridgeport, MI McDonalds (my mom is the lady who starts it, with the sunglasses on...she rocks.)

Okay, back to business as usual...the March Glam Bag Reveal: The Great Escape

I'm not going to lie...this month's glam bag was NOT my favorite. The bag itself, I absolutely love. I love navy and anchors, so it now sits nicely in my purse! However, the items in the bag were only "okay" for me this month.

One. Travel Lite Make-Up Remover (8 Count pouch) by La Fresh
This little pack comes with moist towlette wipes. I generally don't need these unless I am at home, but I am happy to try them out!

Two. Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist
A mist meant to rehydrate your hair and face while on the go. It smells very summer-y. I might try using it on days that I work, especially if I want to go out afterwards.

Three. Mini Freestyle Palette by GlamRX
This palette was made exclusively for Ipsy subscribers. It is a little compact with a magnetic base. The eyeshadows I have received previously from Coastal Scents can be put in the compact and they stay put due to the magnetic base. It's pretty cool.

Four. Yaby Eyeshadow Refills
I received 2 eyeshadow colors, which fit nicely in the GlamRX palette. They aren't colors I generally use but I will try them out!

Day #213: February Glam Bag

February Glam Bag's theme was "Red Carpet Ready", I am assuming because the Academy Awards are coming up and the Grammy's, yada yada. I'm rambling.

It wasn't my favorite bag, but I still liked it better than any of my Birch Boxes. The bag was black, with red lining. Inside I received:

1. Coastal Scents eyeshadow sample. The sample I received included: dark goldenrod, sunbeam, golden globe, and dark golden olive. I was excited to get another Coastal Scents sample because I absolutely LOVED the first one I received. The eye shadow applies smoothly and lasts most of the day. I highly recommend.
2. Gel Eyeliner by Mica Beauty Truth be told, I have never used a gel eyeliner...so we will see how this goes.

3. Lash Card Used to help avoid smudging and clumping when applying mascara. I have this issue, so I am excited to try these babies out!

4. Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara by POP Beauty I love trying out new mascara, so I was excited to receive this sample. I generally only use black and that's what I received! Along with the mascara, POP offered some mascara applying tips:

POP your skills:
One. Curl lashes as close to the root as possible.
Two. Jiggle the wand from the root to the middle of the lash.
Three. Repeat twice, wait a few seconds in-between, letting each layer dry.
Four. Jiggle 3rd layer all the way to the tip of the lashes.
Six. To reach small and stray lashes – turn the brush vertically and apply.

5. Flawless & Poreless by Pixi This is a face primer to use before you apply your make-up. It promises no-shine and I have to say I like it so far! Although (sorry Pixi!) Mirabella is still my fave.

Day #181: Beauty Wish-List

I love make-up. I have more make-up than I need or use. I'm not particularly good at doing make-up. But for some reason I love looking at and buying it. So, while I was browsing on my Sephora app, I made a little wish-list.

One. Urban Decay Naked 2
Two. Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir
Three. Stila All is Bright Lip Glaze Set
Four. Givenchy Poudre Bonne Mine Healthy Glow Powder
Five. Too Faced Suddenly Sexy Set

If only I had lots of money to spend! However, I am buying Naked 2. I just need to make my way over to Sephora to make the purchase!

What's on your beauty wish-list?

Day #116: Make-Up

I just want to say that I have amazing people in my life. I have a very supportive husband, parents, brother and friends. It's no secret that I have been struggling this past year with lots of different things, hence, I started this blog. It has become my outlet and I have met lots of great people along the way. I am so grateful for all of your support through this time. I have had people reach out to me in ways I never could have dreamed. You know who you are, and I once again, thank-you!

Also, my mom, who knows I have been trying not to spend money surprised me today with some make-up. I love all things girly and even though I probably don't need make-up, I loved the surprise and will definitely use it! It came with a set of eyeshadow, blush, bronzer and 3 shades of lip gloss.

I still maintain I suck at doing my make-up, but I love having lots of it to play with! Thanks Mom :)

I am also not great at the whole "contouring" your face thing. I have many pins regarding this and try as I might, I still don't think I quite get it. I have watched many YouTube videos regarding this. And pinned many tutorials.

Anyways, back to watching the Princess Diaries.

Try not to judge me :)

Day #46: Friday Top 5

In my heated rants about the city I live in, I forgot to post my Friday Top 5 and My September Wish List and goals. GAH! I promise I'm done with the rants...for now!

Chelsea's Friday Top Five

1. Mom
MY MOMMY WENT HOME TODAY! She is finally out of the hospital and she understands that if she ever fails to tell me that she is having chest pain and/or other symptoms of worry, that she will have more to worry about than blood clots. Cause she will be dealing with ME! I am a force to be reckoned with.

2. Office Supplies

I am addicted to office supplies. I love back to school time because I love buying office supplies. So does my husband. Is this strange?

3. Paracord
Hubby and I have been making paracord bracelets. It's actually a lot of fun and it's something we can do together. We purchased supplies from Paracord Planet for a decent price of $8.99 for a 100 feet of cord, which is cheaper than the 16 ft from craft stores. They have many different sizes and colors. We also bought the buckles from there. It took them about 4-5 days to actually confirm shipment but after that it was here within 2 days. There are great YouTube video tutorials on how to make the bracelets. Once I am better at it, I may make one. Hoping to feature some bracelets in our Etsy shop soon!

4. Shopping with Sheri!

I had fun getting out for the night with one of my BFF's Sheri! Shopping + Dinner = a great night out!

5. My Mother-in-Law

I am very fortunate to have one of the best mother-in-laws in the world! She is super sweet and every time we see her she gives me stuff she knows I would love. Like make-up and a sewing machine. She has a heart of gold and I love her! And she doesn't judge my crazy side. ;)
