Clean, De-Clutter & Organize 2014

I don't believe in making new years resolutions. After 20 years of making resolutions, I have realized that I never keep them. I also realized that you don't need a new year, to start over. You don't even need a new week or a new day. Starting over, or starting anything really, can happen the moment you make the decision. Anyways, what is my point? My point is I don't make resolutions, but I have been thinking a lot lately about projects that I want to do around the house. I am hoping that 2014 brings about more financial stability since both Bob and I have full-time jobs. So, this has me wanting to fix up the house, clean and be more organized. Here are the projects I want to work on:
De-Clutter and Organize Room by Room I want to clean, get rid of clutter (we have a LOT of clutter) and organize each room in the house. Where I fail in this endeavor, is I always try to do too much at once. I am going to try to do a room a month.

I hope this is the year I make it happen!! 

Day 48.2: Dining Room Make-Over

I inherited some items from my grandpa and grandma's house during the cleaning out process. This inspired me to clean and rearrange my living room a bit. Nothing drastic, but I love it so far.

Here it is before:

It's a bit messy. Anyways, Wine rack was moved to a different wall.

The dog crate was moved into a different room and the bakers rack was sold.

Cleaned up a bit, added our buffet table and a china cabinet. Sorry for the picture quality.

Pretty dining room! Now I just need a new chandelier. Hmm...

I am quite pleased with it! Hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend!

Day #33: Discount Shopping

Today was a mostly productive day. Spent the first half of the day cleaning and organizing. Second half I spent trolling around the internet. The dining room is coming together nicely, just need to get the china cabinet in and we should be done! I also started working on the craft room. I have made progress. My desk can officially be used as a "Creativity Station". I have lots of jewelry orders to get caught up on!

Clutter and Organization Tip of the Day:



Have lots of old magazines or pages of magazines just laying around? Buy a cheap 3-ring binder and plastic pages to store articles that you want to keep! I have home decor, recipes, organization ideas, etc all stored in one convenient binder. Decreases clutter and helps you stay organized!
