Day #204: Fat Bitch
I recently signed up for the Nearsighted Owl's "How to Be a Fat Bitch" E-Course. I love her blog. She accepts her body as it is and doesn't worry about what society thinks of her.
I have tried to be like that my whole life. I don't diet because I like to. I do because "healthy" apparently means being thin. Which I am not. However, I am active...I just love to eat. I have no medical problems associated with my obesity. I am large and I am working towards being okay with it.
Our first assignment was to name 5 "happy" things to do, just for ourselves. Here's my five:
1. Stop worrying about dieting.
2. Start working out 3 times a week. Now, I actually enjoy working out. It makes me feel good. I used to work out 5-6 times a week. It was my time to think, brainstorm, vent, etc. When I started school last year I became too busy to do this and it fell off my regular routine. I didn't do it to lose weight, I just liked how it made me feel.
3. Buy myself a new outfit.
4. Bake something delicious.
5. Blog about this e-course
It's hard being overweight these days. I feel like people look at me and just assume I am a lazy, slob. Between work and school, I'm definitely not lazy. I am busy. I have gained weight since I started school again. But does that make me lazy? Not in my opinion, but I know others likely see me as such. Am I as healthy as I could be? Probably not, but it has nothing to do with my weight. I know plenty of thin people who are less healthy than me.
