Day #124: Currently

Currently:
reading Whatever is assigned in my classes. Can't wait for school to end in a few weeks so I can get caught up on my reading!
writing This blog entry. Just finished writing a 10 page paper.
listening New Moon is on FX.
thinking I am exhausted and can't wait for school to be done.
smelling a stinky ferret cage.
wishing i had more energy to get all the things accomplished that I need to. Like cleaning the house and doing the laundry.
hoping I get a good grade on the paper I just wrote.
wearing jeans and an over-sized gray t-shirt
loving having days off.
wanting to clean, but having ZERO energy.
needing to sleep
feeling a headache from doing homework.

Day #117: Sunday Social + Shopping!

Well, I made it through night shift last night. I only slept until noon-ish, which isn't too bad. Now I work at my normal 7am, sooooo I took benadryl to aide me in getting back on track. I went "shopping" with Sheri today. By shopping I mean, I went with her and watched her spend money while my frugal-self searched for clearance items. I did find the kids some nice stocking stuffers  at Target.

I love Target.

Favorite Thanksgiving Memory: I don't have one in particular, but every holiday I always color with my cousins kids. It's tradition now!

Day #111: Crochet Project

Sadly, the weekend is over. Back to work for me! Mondays are usually busy in the ER, so I'm planning on it going by quickly (I hope!). Anyways, this past weekend I got bored with my usual jewelry making and cross-stitching, so I got out my crochet hooks and learned how to make ear warmers. I'm doing a craft show in a couple weeks...might be a nice item to display with the cold Michigan winter on it's way in! 

Knotted Ear Warmer

My husband told me with the knotted one on I looked like an old lady. THEN I turned the knot to the side and he said I looked like a pirate. Oui.

I have perfected my double crochet. Fo shiz.

Anyways, here is the pattern in case you'd like to make your own!

Supplies:

Yarn

5mm hook (H)

Abbreviations:

DC = double crochet

Chain 70

Row 1: DC in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across. 68 total DC's.

R2-6: Chain 2.  Turn.  Dc in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across. Again, 68 total DC's.

Use slip stitches to sew the ends together. 

It's a pretty easy craft project for a beginner like me!

Day #83: Bottle Caps

I have been cleaning my craft room out and in the process I found some bottle cap blanks. I used some mod podge and made these:

It's getting colder here in Michigan, almost time for scraping the wind shield in the morning. That is something I hate to do. There is nothing I feel like doing LESS at 6:30am is scrape my windows. Oh well. I have another long week ahead, although after this month I won't be working as much overtime. Then maybe, I will have the energy to get more organized in life. Meal plan, do laundry, clean, etc. 

Tomorrow, we are hopefully finding some shelves to put up in my craft room so that I can continue to organize! I need to clear some space in the closets. 

Alright, time to work 12 hours...it's Monday so it's bound to busy in the ER today! Don't forget to leave me some ideas for the bottle caps...and link-up!
