Day #131: Winter Boots

The other day I woke up for work and looked outside...and saw snow. It has kind of snowed this year, but nothing stuck. This time, it stuck. 

Ugh. I hate snow. Mostly I hate driving in snow. And shoveling snow.

Day #126: Couch to 5K

So, I'm almost one week into the weight loss challenge at work and I have been doing decent on the eating part. It's time to dive into the working out part. Bob and I are going to buy new shoes today for work and the gym (We get an awesome discount AND we can payroll deduct...so it doesn't seem like I'm spending money. Which is awesome). 
Anyways, I download an app for my phone called "Get Running" by Nike. It's similar to the "Couch to 5K" program. Here is an example of how it works:
Week 1 (3 runs): 28.5 minutes of exercise, with 5 to warm-up, 5 to cool down and 8 minutes running. 8 Times: Run 1 minute. Between runs, walk for 1.5 minutes.
Seems doable right? Here's an example of the Couch to 5K program.

Day #119: Times flies...

I just realized that Thanksgiving is next week.

Next friggin' week. It seems like this year passed by so quickly! Which I am happy about...2012 has not been super nice to me. My wedding was amazing. But the events that followed...not so much. I think within one week of my wedding my grandpa was hospitalized. He came home. Fell. Bob and I had to come pick him up off the floor. Then he went back to the hospital. A week later he died. THEN a couple weeks later my mom was in the hospital with blood clots in her leg and lungs. Combined with money problems, etc. 2012 just hasn't been super nice!

Enough of that though. Thanksgiving is next week! GAH! I am unprepared. I am lucky, my parents prepare dinner and all that good stuff. However, I haven't decorated the house or anything. I suppose I should just wait and decorate for Christmas. See how much school throws ya off?? Geesh.

Is anyone else excited that Teen Mom 2 is started last night? I am. Just sayin'.

The weight loss challenge starts this week. EEEK! I have been working on play-lists to work out to. I love making play-lists. The last work-out mix I made was as follows:

Day #112: Election Day + Loving Lately

Sorry for the "downer" blog yesterday, but sometimes, a girl has to get it off her chest! I feel better today, trying to stay positive and continue moving forward!

I've had a fairly productive day so far. I had a class for work early this afternoon, voted, went to lunch with hubby and got his hair-cut! Now I'm contemplating doing homework OR adding items to my Etsy store. Decisions, decisions...at least Sex and the City is on TV...love!

So, with the Holidays around the corner I am finding that glitter and sparkles are EVERYWHERE. And I love it!

I'm starting to feel a little better. No more fevers. Just a horrendous cough. Of course, the two weeks I'm sick, I have a ton of homework. I will be so happy when school is done in December.

Day #98: DIY Mitten Ornament, Giveaways AND Loving Lately!

Here is what I am Loving Lately:

I am all about DIY Christmas Decor, and this season, I am going to attempt to make each and every one of these items. I started simply by attempting to re-create number 7 on the list. Here is my attempt:

Supplies

Felt (multiple colors of your choice)

Buttons

Thread

String or Yarn (to make hanger)

Needle
Stuffing

Draw a line around the pattern. You will need two mittens for your ornament. For a mitten pattern, click here.

Next sew the buttons on. Then attach the mittens together by using a blanket stitch. The following video will show you how to make a blanket stitch.

Before you are finished, make you sure you put in the stuffing. Then finish your ornament!

What am I loving lately?? Justin Verlander. In the fifth game of the series against Oakland, he effortlessly pitched 9 innings, giving up NO hits. He's on the mound again tonight, in hopes to gain a 3rd win in the series against the Yankees. 

I just wish I was there.

Day #84: Loving Lately

I love making things. I mostly make jewelry, but I also dabble in cross-stitching, scrapbooking and other random crafts. Lately, I have been working on felt projects and trying to come up with some cutesy things for my Etsy shop. Until then, however, I have stalking other people's shops and have found that I love felt birds.

This strange because I hate real birds. Don't get me wrong, birds are pretty from far away, but if one flies towards my head I am hitting the ground. Screaming. Anyways, here is what I am loving lately:

Day #70.1: Loving Lately: Old Navy

I have a love/hate relationship with Old Navy. Most of the time, I love them. But then there are times when they launch their new season line and I think to myself: "WTF?" This fall, I was expecting to be disappointed because I wasn't extremely pleased with their summer styles. However, I am loving the clothes they are trickling out this fall!

What am I “loving lately”?? Booties! Being a plus-sized woman, I can’t fit my large calves into tall boots. However, I am not super concerned about it since this fall there are loads of cute ankle boots!! And I want them all!!!
